      How do I know if my Mac has Intel Processor or Apple Silicon?

      1. Please open the Apple menu on the top left corner of your desktop screen.
      2. Click on “About This Mac”
      3. Users with Intel processors will have “Processor…. Intel Core…” and users with Apple Silicon will have “Chip Apple M1/2/3/4”

       

       

      Starting with certain models introduced in late 2020, Apple began the transition from Intel processors to Apple silicon in Mac computers.

      • MacBook Pro introduced in 2021 or later, plus MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020)
      • MacBook Air introduced in 2022 or later, plus MacBook Air (M1, 2020)
      • iMac introduced in 2021 or later
      • Mac mini introduced in 2020 or later
      • Mac Studio introduced in 2022 or later
      • Mac Pro introduced in 2023
