How to Add Brand Asset Categories in Different DAM Systems

Adding Brand Asset Categories in different DAM Systems involves similar steps with slight variations based on the system.

Step 1: Create a folder for the Brand Asset Categories

  1. Create a new folder: In your DAM system, create a new folder.

    ⚠️ Important for Box users: When using Box, the folder must be created at the root level ("All Files"). If the folder is inside another folder, tagging will not work and the folders will not appear in the Brand Panel.

  2. Tag the folder:
    Use the tag: CIH_BCT_<CATEGORY TYPE>

    • Replace <CATEGORY TYPE> with one of the following types:

      • images

      • logos

      • colors

      • text

      • icons

    Optional tag for category naming: CIH_BCN_<CATEGORY NAME>

    • If present, it’s used as the category name; otherwise, the folder name is used.

  3. Add assets: Place all assets you want to associate with this brand category into this folder.

Step 1a: Repeat "Step 1" for each additional asset category you need

Step 2: Create a folder for Brand Color Categories

Brand color categories follow the same steps as other asset categories, but the tag type is colors and you add .cihubcolor files.

  1. Create a new folder: Create a separate folder for color categories.

    ⚠️ Important for Box users: Just like in Step 1, the folder must be at the root level ("All Files") for the Brand Panel to recognize it.

  2. Tag the folder:

    Use the tag:  CIH_BCT_colors

    Optional category name tag: CIH_BCN_<COLOR_CATEGORY_NAME>

  3. Add color files: Inside this folder, add files with the .cihubcolor extension.
    These files should follow a specific structure to represent brand colors. Example format:

    {
    "id": "897428381201",
    "name": "Sky Blue",
    "colorDescription": "lorem ipsum",
    "hexValue": "#87CEEB",
    "rgbValue": {
    "red": 135,
    "green": 206,
    "blue": 235
    },
    "pantone": "279 C",
    "cmyk": {
    "cyan": 44,
    "magenta": 12,
    "yellow": 0,
    "black": 8
    }
    }

Step 2a: Repeat "Step 2" for each additional color category you need

Visual Representation in the Panel

A few minutes after setting up the folders and files, the corresponding categories and colors will appear in the Brand Panel of the CI HUB Corporate Connector when you load it the next time.
