How to Add Brand Asset Categories in Frontify
Frontify has a Brandpanel, where you can create a Brand. A brand can have multiple guidelines, and you can add libraries to any guideline. Each library can act as a Brand Asset Category.
To add Brand Asset Categories in Frontify, follow these steps:
1. Create a Brand and Add a Guideline
-
Log in to your Frontify account.
-
In the Brandpanel, click New brand, name it, and confirm.
-
Inside your new brand, click New guideline.
-
Choose whether to start from scratch, a basic template, or an advanced template.
-
Click Confirm to create the guideline.

2. Create a Library and Upload Your Assets
To add a Brand Asset Category, create a new library and use it as the category.
-
Click the Frontify logo to return to your brand overview.
-
Select the brand you want to work in.
-
Go to Libraries → New library.
-
Enter a name and click Create media library.
-
Inside the library, click Upload to add your assets.
-
(Optional) Add metadata such as tags or descriptions.
-
Click Upload to finish.

3. Add the Library to Your Guideline
-
Open the guideline where you want your category to appear.
-
Click the + button.
-
Select Library.
-
Click Use existing and choose your library.
-
Click Done.
Your Brand Asset Category (library) is now included in your guideline.

4. Verify Your Assets in the Brandpanel
Open the CI HUB Brand Connector, log in to your Frontify account, and make sure you have selected the correct brand.
In our example, it’s “My Brand.”
Your assets should now be displayed in the Brandpanel inside your guideline as expected.
