Working with Renditions in CI HUB Brand Connector

Renditions allow you to choose different versions of the same asset before placing it into your creative application. Depending on your Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, an asset may be available in multiple resolutions, file formats, or optimized versions for different use cases. These renditions are provided directly by your DAM, so the available options, names, and resolutions are defined by your DAM system.

 Selecting a Rendition

When you select an asset, the available renditions are displayed before placing it into your document.

Choose the rendition that best matches your workflow, or simply keep the Original rendition selected and click Place.

Note ⚠️
Renditions are provided by your DAM system. The available file formats, resolutions, and rendition names depend entirely on your DAM configuration.

Important ⚠️
In some cases, the Original rendition cannot be placed in Figma because it exceeds Figma's maximum supported image size. If you attempt to place an asset whose dimensions exceed 4096 px, the Brand Connector displays an error indicating that the asset is too large for Figma's size limit. The Renditions dialog will automatically open, allowing you to select a smaller rendition. Choose a rendition with a maximum dimension below 4096 px, then place it into your Figma design.

Placement Options

After selecting a rendition, you can choose how you want to use it in your creative application. Depending on the application and the selected asset, you may see one or more of the following placement options:

  • Place: Inserts the selected rendition into your document.
  • Add as Fill: Uses the selected rendition as a fill for the selected object (supported applications only).
  • Replace: Replaces the currently selected asset with the selected rendition. This option is also available in Microsoft PowerPoint, allowing you to replace existing images while preserving the slide layout.
  • Replace All: Replaces all matching instances of the asset in the document.
  • Save Locally: Downloads the selected rendition to your local computer instead of placing it directly.

Choose the placement option that best fits your workflow.
