Working with Renditions in CI HUB Brand Connector
Renditions let you choose a different format or size of an asset before adding it to your project. Depending on your DAM, PIM, MAM or cloud storage system, a file might come in different sizes, formats, or renditions made for different uses. These options come directly from your DAM, PIM, or cloud storage system, so the names, sizes, and choices you see depend on how that system is set up.
Selecting a Rendition
When you select an asset, the renditions button appears at the bottom. Click it to see the available renditions before adding the file to your document.
Pick the rendition that works best for what you're doing, or just leave "Original" selected and click Place.
Note ⚠️
The renditions you see come from your DAM, PIM, MAM or cloud storage system. The file types, sizes, and names all depend on how that system is set up.Important ⚠️
Sometimes the "Original" rendition can't be added in Figma because it's too big and Figma has a size limit. If you try to place a file larger than 4096 px, you'll see a message saying the file is too big for Figma. When this happens, a window will pop up automatically so you can pick a smaller rendition instead. Just choose one that's under 4096 px, and you'll be able to add it to your design.
Placement Options
Once you've picked a rendition, you can choose how to use it. Depending on the application you're using and the file you picked, you might see some of these choices:
- Place: Adds the file to your document.
- Add as Fill: Uses the file as a background/fill for a shape or object (only works in some applications).
- Replace: Swaps out the file that's already there for this new one. In Microsoft PowerPoint, this lets you swap images while keeping your slide layout exactly the same.
- Replace All: Swaps every matching copy of the file throughout the document.
- Save Locally: Downloads the file to your computer instead of adding it to the document.
Pick whichever option fits what you're trying to do.
