CI HUB Connector for Creative Cloud: Settings

The Settings panel lets you change how the CI HUB Connector looks and works.

How to open Settings:

  1. Click the menu icon (three lines) in the top-right corner of the CI HUB panel.
  2. Select Settings from the list.

User Interface

Under UI Settings, you can change how the panel looks.

  • Interface Size: Make the panel bigger or smaller by typing a percentage (100% is normal size).
  • Language: Change the language shown in the panel.
  • Hint Boxes: Turn the blue help boxes on or off. These boxes show tips inside the panel.

ExCoP (External Content Panel) Settings

These settings control how the connector checks the files (assets) used in your document.

Image Quality Check (PPI): Turn this on to get a warning if a picture's quality is too low. If a picture doesn't meet the quality you set, it will show a red mark in the panel so you can spot it easily.

Automatic Checks: Choose how often the connector checks your document's files. You can set this anywhere from every 5 minutes to every 120 minutes.

Warning for Changed Files: Turn this on to get a warning if a file in your document was changed on your computer and no longer matches the version saved in your DAM, PIM, or cloud storage system.

Recommended InDesign Settings

Turn this on to use the settings CI HUB suggests for working best with InDesign.

Skip Link Check Turn this on to make your InDesign documents open faster, by skipping the check for linked files.

Multi-Page Thumbnails Turn this on to flip through multi-page documents using your arrow keys, right inside the CI HUB view (only works if your source system supports it).

Export Settings

Choose your default settings for saving images out of CI HUB.

PNG Files

You can set:

  • Image quality
  • Resolution (sharpness)
  • Color type (color or black-and-white)
  • See-through (transparent) background
  • Smooth edges (anti-aliasing)
  • Overprint preview

JPEG Files

You can set similar options, including:

  • Quality and resolution
  • Color type (including CMYK, used for printing)
  • Whether to save the color profile with the file

Temporary Cache Folder

When you add a file from CI HUB into your document, a temporary copy is saved on your computer so your Adobe app can open it.

You can:

  • Choose where this temporary folder is located
  • Clear out these temporary files right from the Settings panel

The panel also shows you:

  • Files that were changed on your computer
  • How many temporary files are stored
  • How much disk space they're using

Click Refresh to update this information, or Clear temp cache now to delete the temporary files. A pop-up will ask you to confirm first, so you don't delete anything by accident.
