Keep the assets in your documents up to date without having to check them manually every time. With Automatic status check on document open and Automatic relinking, the CI HUB Connector Professional can check and refresh your assets for you as soon as a file is opened.
What these settings do
Automatic status check on document open: When this is turned on, CI HUB Connector Professional checks the status of every linked asset in your file automatically, no need to click "Check Status" yourself. The check runs:
- right after you open a file in your host application, and
- when CI HUB Connector Professional starts up and a file is already open
This only applies to files opened through the CI HUB Connector Professional.
Automatic relinking: Once a status check has run, CI HUB Connector Professional can also take care of outdated assets for you. When this setting is turned on, any asset found to be behind the version in your DAM, PIM, MAM or Cloud Storage is automatically relinked to the latest version, you don't have to relink it by hand.
A couple of things worth knowing about how relinking works:
- Auto-relinking always links to the latest asset version. It does not touch assets that are ahead of the DAM, PIM, MAM or Cloud Storage version, those are left as they are.
- Auto-relinking always uses the last rendition you used for that asset, so your layout and format stay consistent.
- After relinking finishes, you'll see a short, non-blocking notification summarizing what changed, for example, "3 assets updated from Frontify."
Turning the settings on
- Open the CI HUB Connector Professional and go to Settings.
- Turn on Automatic status check on document open.
- Once that's on, you can also turn on Automatic relinking.
A few notes:
- Both settings are off by default. Turning them on doesn't change anything else about how your assets behave, it just automates the steps you'd otherwise trigger manually.
- Automatic relinking depends on Automatic status check on document open, it only becomes available once that setting is enabled, since it acts on the results of a status check.
- Automatic relinking only relinks assets when valid link data is available. If it isn't, the asset is left untouched, just as it would be today.
For company admins: setting defaults with CCC
If your organization uses Corporate Central Config (CCC), you can manage both of these settings centrally for your team:
- Set a default value for Automatic status check on document open and Automatic relinking across your organization.
- Users can still adjust these settings themselves, so the defaults you choose simply determine what your team starts with.
This makes it easy to turn the feature on for everyone by default, while still giving individual users control over their own workflow.
