CI HUB Connector Professional: Asset Placement and ExCoP Overview for PowerPoint Pro
Place Assets and Select Renditions
The CI HUB Connector Professional lets you add high-quality images or graphics to your PowerPoint slides while automatically shrinking them down to smaller, lighter versions (like PNG or JPEG). This keeps your presentation running smoothly and keeps the file size small.

The External Content Panel (ExCoP) Feature in the CI HUB Connector Professional
The External Content Panel (ExCoP) is a handy feature that comes with the CI HUB Connector Professional.
Think of the External Content Panel (ExCoP) as a control panel that shows you every image you've used in your presentation, along with its current status. It helps you stay on top of your content and manage it with less effort.
Every image you place stays connected to where it originally came from, your DAM, PIM, MAM or cloud storage system. Because of this connection, the External Content Panel (ExCoP) will let you know if:
- An image has been changed at the source
- An image has been removed from the source
- There's more than one version of the same image available
For images you've already added to your slides, External Content Panel (ExCoP) also lets you:
- Look up the original image and swap in the newest version
- Send an image straight from PowerPoint back up to your DAM, PIM, MAM or cloud storage system, then reconnect it to your slide automatically

How to Use the External Content Panel (ExCoP) Feature
- Click the link icon in the toolbar to open External Content Panel (ExCoP).
- Click the Check Status icon at the top to check all your assets at once
CI HUB Connector Professional will then check every image against your DAM, PIM, MAM or cloud storage system to see if anything's changed, been updated, or is still available. You'll see the results right there in PowerPoint.
Click on any image to see more details, like:
- The image's name
- Where it's placed in your presentation
- Whether a newer version is available
If a newer version exists, you'll see a small pop-up letting you know, along with a side-by-side preview of the old and new versions.
To update an image:
- Click the link icon
- Pick the version you want to use
The External Content Panel (ExCoP) will then update that image everywhere it appears in your presentation, so everything stays consistent.
