When working with assets placed from your DAM system into your content creation tools (such as Adobe InDesign, Figma, Microsoft Word, etc.) using CI HUB Connector Pro, you can easily access and manage their metadata directly from the ExCoP panel.
This article explains how to view and use asset metadata in ExCoP.
Step 1: Place Your Asset and Open ExCoP

Place your asset from your DAM system into your design using the CI HUB Connector.

Open the ExCoP panel by clicking on the ExCoP icon.

The ExCoP panel will open and automatically display all assets currently placed in your document.
Step 2: Check the Asset Status
Before accessing metadata, you need to verify the asset status:

Locate your asset in the ExCoP panel.

Click on the Check Status icon next to the asset.

Once the status check is complete, you can proceed to open the asset details.
Step 3: Open the Asset Details

Click on the asset inside the ExCoP panel.

You will see:

General asset details
-
Available versions of the asset
-

Select one of the available versions.

The Details tab will open, displaying the asset’s metadata.
View Metadata
Inside the Details tab, you can view all available metadata associated with the selected asset version.
To customize the metadata view:

Click on the gear icon located above the asset details.

Use the dropdown menu to display all available metadata fields related to the asset.

Select the metadata fields you want to display.
Drag & Drop Metadata into Your Design
A powerful feature of the CI HUB Connector is the ability to directly use metadata in your design:

Simply drag and drop a metadata field from the ExCoP panel into your document.

The metadata will be inserted directly into your layout.
This makes it easy to dynamically incorporate asset information such as titles, descriptions, copyright details, or other metadata fields into your design.
