When you add an asset from your DAM, PIM or cloud storage system into your document (like InDesign, Figma, or Word) using CI HUB Connector Pro, you can easily see the metadata for that asset right from ExCoP (External Content Panel).
This guide shows you how.
Step 1: Add Your Asset and Open ExCoP
- Add your asset from your DAM, PIM or cloud storage system into your document using CI HUB Connector.
- Click the Link icon in the navigation area to open ExCoP.
- ExCoP will open and show all the assets you've added to your document.
Step 2: Check the Asset
Before you look at the metadata, make sure everything is up to date:
- Find your asset in ExCoP.
- Click the Check Status icon next to it.
- Once it's done checking, you're ready to see the details.
Step 3: Open the Asset Details
- Click on the asset in ExCoP.
- You'll now see:
- Basic info about the asset
- Different versions of the asset
- Pick the version you want.
- A Details tab will open, showing you the asset's metadata.
View the Metadata
Inside the Details tab, you'll find all the metadata for the asset version you picked.
Want to choose what shows up?
- Click the gear icon above the asset details.
- Open the dropdown menu to see all the metadata fields you can display.
- Pick the ones you want to see.
Drag and Drop Metadata into Your Design
Here's a really handy trick: you can drag any metadata field straight into your document.
- Just click and drag a field from ExCoP into your layout.
- It will drop right in, exactly where you put it.
This makes it super easy to add things like the asset's title, description, or copyright info directly into your design without typing anything yourself.
