Search Your Assets with CI HUB Connector
You can search your own asset library, or any other DAM, PIM, or cloud storage system connected to CI HUB Connector, using the Search icon in the panel.
Just click the search icon to open the search field and start looking through your connected systems.
Switching Between Connections
Want to search a different connected system? Click the small white arrow next to the search field. This opens a dropdown where you can pick a different connection and start searching it right away.
You can jump between all your connected systems without ever leaving the panel.

How Search Works
When you type something into the search field, CI HUB Connector looks through all the asset details in the system you're currently connected to.
The easiest way to search is by typing a few keywords, like:
cat dogcat AND dog
Both of these will show you assets with cats, dogs, or both. Keep in mind that results can look a bit different depending on how your connected DAM, PIM, or cloud storage system handles searches.
Search tricks: You can use the following operators in your search string to refine your search:
- Quotation marks (
" ") – find an exact phrase - Asterisk (
*) – stands in for part of a word - Minus sign (
-) – leaves out a word you don't want OR– find assets with one word or another (must be written in capital letters)AND– find assets that include both wordsNOT– leave out a specific word- Parentheses (
( )) – tells the search what to look at first
You can mix and match these tricks in one search to get exactly what you need.
Good to know: these search tricks only work if your connected DAM, PIM, or cloud storage system actually supports them.
Recent Searches
CI HUB Connector remembers your past searches for you.
Click the small white arrow next to the search field, and you'll see a dropdown with:
- The document you currently have open
- Your most recent searches
This makes it easy to repeat a search you've done before.
Don't need an old search anymore? Just click the white "X" on the red circle next to it to remove it.

Similarity Search
One of the most useful features is Similarity Search.
This only works with systems that support it (like Unsplash or Adobe Stock).
When it's available, you can pick an asset and click the similarity icon to find other assets that look alike. You'll see the matches show up in the Results area.
You can use Similarity Search in two spots:
1. Under Navigation
- Uses the asset you've selected in your InDesign document
- Looks for similar assets within the system you're connected to
2. Under Details
- Uses the asset you've selected inside the CI HUB Connector Results panel
- Looks for similar assets based on that one
Both work a little differently, but either one helps you find related images fast.
