Working with CI HUB Connector in the context of the other worksuites
So far, we’ve mainly explored the CI HUB Connector within Adobe InDesign. This is a natural starting point, as InDesign is the industry standard for publishing and allows most features to be demonstrated clearly.
However, one of the key strengths of the CI HUB Connector is its seamless integration across multiple work environments. While the core functionality remains consistent, there are some differences depending on the platform.
Key Differences Across Platforms
No ExCoP in Office Applications
The overall structure of the Connector panel is consistent across all platforms. However, the ExCoP feature is currently only available in Adobe InDesign, Sketch, and Figma. It is not supported in Microsoft Office 365 or Google Workspace.
CSV Export Limitations
In Adobe InDesign, metadata can be exported as a CSV file due to its data merge functionality. This feature is not available in Microsoft Office applications, Google Workspace, or Figma.
Although Microsoft Word includes a mail merge feature, CSV export is not supported here, as Word is not designed as a production tool in this context.
Supported File Formats
The CI HUB Connector allows you to open the following file formats directly:
- Word:
.docx,.dotx,.odt - PowerPoint:
.pptx - Excel:
.xlsx,.xltx,.ods
