Working with CI HUB Connector Professional in Different Applications
The CI HUB Connector Professional works across several applications, including Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Figma, and Sketch.
The main features stay the same, but there are a few differences depending on which application you are using.
Key Differences Across Applications
The External Content Panel (ExCoP) Is Not Available in Every Application
The CI HUB Connector Professional panel looks and works in a similar way across supported applications. However, the External Content Panel (ExCoP) is not available in every application. ExCoP is available in:
-
Adobe applications, except Adobe Express
-
Sketch
-
Figma
-
Microsoft SharePoint
-
Microsoft PowerPoint Pro for Windows
-
WordPress
You will not find ExCoP in other Microsoft Office applications or in Google Workspace.
CSV Export Isn't Available Everywhere
In Adobe InDesign, you can export your metadata as a CSV file, thanks to a feature called data merge. This option isn't available in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or Figma.
Microsoft Word does have a similar feature called mail merge, but it doesn't let you export as CSV. That's because Word isn't built for this kind of production work.
File Types You Can Open
With the CI HUB Connector Professional, you can open these file types directly from your DAM, PIM, MAM or cloud storage system:
- Word:
.docx,.dotx,.odt - PowerPoint:
.pptx - Excel:
.xlsx,.xltx,.ods
