Mastering the CI HUB Brand Connector Asset Explorer

Exploring the Asset Explorer

The Asset Explorer is your main workspace for finding, viewing, and managing files from your connected DAM, PIM, or cloud storage systems. It's built to help you get what you need quickly and easily.

Available Connections and Management

At the top of the Asset Explorer, you'll see icons for each system you've connected (like a DAM, PIM, or cloud storage system). Click an icon to turn that connection on or off.

There's also a settings button where you can see all your connections, add new ones, edit existing ones, or remove ones you no longer need.

Search and Filtering

Just below the connection icons, you'll find a search bar. Type in a keyword and it will help you find files fast. There's also a handy filter called Pre-Search, which narrows results down by category so you find things even quicker.

Note: This Pre-Search option isn't available for every connected system.

Viewing and Organizing Assets

All your active connections show up in a list below the search bar. Click on one to open its folders and files. You can switch between a grid view or a list view, and use filters (like date or file size) to sort things the way you like.

Each file shows helpful info like its name, which system it came from, its file type, and whether it's locked. From here, you can:

  • Star a file as a Favorite so it's easy to find again
  • Click the three-dot menu to lock, unlock, or delete a file
  • Drag and drop a file into your design, or use the Add button

Metadata: Understand and Use Asset Details

Click on any file and its metadata will pop up at the bottom of the screen. This gives you a quick snapshot of the important info.

Want more detail? Click the arrow icon to expand the panel. This shows you additional metadata, including any custom metadata that's been added to the file.

You can also drag metadata straight into your design, or copy it to paste somewhere else.

Here's what you'll typically find in the metadata panel:

  • Asset name
  • Type (image, video, file, etc.) and format (JPG, PNG, MP4, etc.)
  • Asset size and dimensions
  • Version (shows the latest version of the file)
  • Comments, if there are any
  • Creation and last modified date

Depending on the connection and file type, you might see a few extra format-specific or custom metadata fields too. And you can always collapse the panel again once you're done, to keep your workspace tidy.

The Asset Explorer makes it easy to manage all your files in one place. With simple search, clear metadata, and quick access to everything connected to your DAM, PIM, or cloud storage systems, your team can work faster and stay organized, all without leaving your favorite design tool.
